Dispel has a greater chance of effect against non-pure classes. Making it dispel rods only, just prevents pure casters from becoming more powerful, still leaves multiclass in a ditch.
For such a lonely soul, you're having such a nice time.
I'll vote for dispelling both from spells and rods.
Casters get dispelled all the time and die horribly when it happen. Weapon buffing characters should expect the same. And it makes the now rather weak pure and classic figthing machines with little need of magical buffs a little stronger compared to those dependant upon buffs. And that sound allright to me.
Making the dispel spells work on weapons would of course make some casters a little stronger. But I think we compare power on casters slightly incorrectly. They are extremely weak when they start running out of decent spells, but what is wrong with being a little powerful as long as you are near top spell power and uses per day? (But that is another debate).
With that said, a change in the dispel system is highly needed for a PvP server. It is rather crude and very unbalanced in D&D since it is not at all meant for PvP. But that is another debate (I might start).
i kinda think the dispel rod only thing would be good
like casas said +3 wep with +3 dmg means the +3 from the wep is permanent while weilding it
so if they do this and chose dmg it should be dispellable through rod in my opinion
As The Palaces Burn....
The weak flee in terror.....
The paradox of power and peace will destroy itself.

If it has a +3 enchantment, then the +3 damage won't stack with it.
But if you could dispel it, then that person relies on a weapon that does 0 enchantment and 1d6 or 2d6 elemental damage only. Weapon enchantment is made to use weapons like that, but dispel was made to counteract it. However dispel doesn't counter act it right now.
