grab the ice ammy and the piercing belt and ice storm becomes useless.

It's blunt damage and yes you'll still take plenty of damage. It won't be the 80 damage you would take normally but it will still be sizeable.

lets see, -20 ammy, -10 armor (or is it 20 i forgot >_<), -10 boots, -5 bludg/-5 ice elem mythril belt, thats 45 dmg left, so its still pretty nasty. thats why some killer reflex is needed,

Max ice storm does 68 damage? 20 cold resistance, 5 bludg resistance... that's about all you can do.

If it has a reflex save and your SD. Then the 68 turns into a 0 cold and 5 bludgeoning resist.

yeah but Emp. ice storm gets some pretty nice DC. 28 or so i think. So lets see, going Pure flat out 20 dex halfling at 1, and at 20 that gives you 25 base, +3 Dex Belt, +3 Dex bracers, +5 Ref rings x2, makes for some pretty nice reflex, so its not that hard to just take the bludg dmg.

Icestorm has no save. That's why it's useful against sneakers. It should stay that way though. You could also always put on the 75% reduction from ice damage and a few points of DR. That cuts it WAY down.

A complaint about SD"s though.

Why is concentration used as the duration on Summon Shadow? SD"s don't get concentration as a class skill. Secondly, why is Summon Shadow's duration the short one? It's single use while the shadow evade has 3 uses per day. If anything Summon Shadow should have the long duration....and I think making it a bit longer wouldn't hurt :P

Ice storm is modified to have a reflex save, for the bludgeoning and ice damage.

Lol? it has no save and I recently was making a mage... So even if it was modified it doesn't work then.

yes it does. Spine Snapper dodges ice storm all the time.

Don't you mean she dodges Cone of Cold? I never seen someone making a save vs Rainbow's Ice Storm and I used it lattely vs your archer and Hatchets a few days ago.Ice strm is the spell where ice spikes are raining right on your head :-P

Ice Storm has never had a save. The only roll it does is for damage.

I tested this last night. There is no save on icestorm. Also max icestorm does 48 ice damage and 18 blunt damage. That means that a level 10 shadowdancer will take 8 blunt and 24 ice damage before gear. Which can be as low as 3 blunt and 0 ice damage (although more likely 4 ice damage).

Hehe ya "that's" a scary spell for a full SD now 3-7 damage OOOOOOoooOOOO!
