Yep you either save all or fail all. I think a save per ball would be better and more realistic.

well the thing about save for all is that the save would be higher. the save per ball is much lower. and the damage is way lower. so if you made it save for all, you should make the damage higher. i mean, 15d6 electric can still be blocked by boots. of course by then they'd just have the elem ammy. so i guess whatever you want to do will help a little.

Any mage that keeps using the same spell when someone puts on the boots deserves to have ball lightning pointless.

I know, but you can't up the damage or power up the spell because one item stops it. That would be like making fireball do 100d6 because evasion, reflex, and boots all make it useless.
