How about making it so that out of range enemies and allies get no effect from it or just a small effect. Like 1/4 of what the normal bard would get since I have seen it alot, the entire team following around the bard for the song and than raping everyone with +5 ac +3 ab +4 damage ect.

Its possible but isn't that considered teamwork?

Its the same as a high level healing and weapon buffing the little ones weapon.
