Rule 1, always think. Do not repeat the same strategy after it has been defeated once. Example, cast PK and it fails.
Rule 2: You must check the rolls, if they are more then 20% out of range of failing it, move onto another strategy.
Rule 3: Always examine your foe, and try to figure out weak points in his equipment build. Or his build in general.
Rule 4: (more of a note) Always remember multiclass magic builds are VERY weak to dispel. If you can't beat them, get a dispel rod. The loss of GP for the rod will benefit you greatly as most multiclass builds shrieval and die after being dispelled.
Rule 5: Use AoE spells wisely. That goes for everyone, even fighters. You need to pay attention to what your mages are casting. If you see them go blue with their hands in the air, MOVE from their target. It's an ice storm.
Keep your eyes open and observant. And for pete's sake, use your brain - otherwise we could implement an NPC script to control your PC better.
