I really think that half elves are useless like everyone else but if there are so many suggestions here and possibiitiesthat seem balancable why has nothing been set in motion...... Half Elves gota go.

Undead as a playable race! Now, this is an interesting topic indeed!

And dangerously difficult!

Anyway, could it even be done in a meaningful way for PvP keeping most of the D&D spirit? And if not, could it and should it still be attempted?

I think most of us disagree on undead for half-elves.. for many reasons, most are listed here.

umm, cause changing a race isn't easy like changing a spell.

I'm liking a troll type race. Similar to what Casas said.

Regen but penalties to acid and fire.

+1 Con and +1 Dex. No stat penalties. That's all you should give them. <_<

Can you give permanent stat increases without direct DM involvment without invalidating a character? I always thought that required either a hak or DM's.

Requires hak, me thinks. RDD bug is an old one.. (Deleveled RDD invalidates)

2 ways, maybe 3 if third works.

Hakpak it.
Add the stat increases to the player hide.

Third, which is easier, but not sure if it works. Modify the racialtypes 2da file on the server.

Ok, added the +1 dex and -1 con to halfelves. Check and see if it went through correctly. After I reboot of course if you get this too soon.

Err was supposed to be +1 CON too. That way it would be somewhat equal to elves. Elves get +2 DEX -2 CON but with many other benefits over half-elves.

ok this will sound weir but:

In Tales of Symphmphonia half-elves think they are all that and everyone else is an inferior race. In Fact, they run Human ranches in which they turn humans into slaves and manufacture them into exspheres, which are special gems that make you stronger, when equipped properly. These Half-Elves are called Desians. You later find out that Cruxis, the angels (who you think are the good guys), are half elves that eveolved through use of a Cruxis crystal, and that Cruxis and teh Desians are really the same orginization.

that may all sound off topic but it gave me some inspiration to help the half-elves of NWN. They tend to use weapons such as whips so and cast lots of fireballs and lightning spells. so give them spell focus evoc and wep prof exotic? ther are some otehr thigns that could help but im drawing a blank right now at 9:30 in the morning.
