Corner sneak abuse is cheap and wrong because it abuses the same flawed stealth system that gets HiPS banned in most servers. That said, sometimes it's the only thing a lone stealther can do to survive against opponents with superior melee prowess and HP. Corner sneaking isn't a crime, abusing it is. You wanna fix it? Script a timer that keeps people from leaving and entering stealth mode more than once every round or two. Leave stealth mode to attack and you can't enter it again for a predetermined amount of time. Naturally, the time that would be required would have to be balanced between monks/archers and rogues, but it's a start.

This post was made a long time ago, before I joined the EW forums. Now, would this require a heartbeat script?
In my opinion, there is no need for an anti-CS script. And melees can deal fine, fighters dont get spot/listen, but most fighters go WM, which get spot, and plenty of it. barbs get listen.
also, i like CSing, its fun laughing at ppl chase you tehn go "WTF? whered he go?"
and heartbeats just lag the server, and it gets rather laggy when aobut 20 ppl get o nanyway.
and if your heart only beat every 6 seconds, youd be dead. just like the server. cept, it doesnt need heartbeats.
It's not just the spotting. It's the spotting over and over and over and over again, and usually a split second before they attack. Really, there's not much a melee can do against a ranged CSer.
Stealth is NWN engine code so it can't be modified. The closest thing to preventing it is to have a heartbeat script that runs a loop script on every single player in the game every 6 seconds and tag's them. If the person hides within the alotted time, then it unhides them.
Even this isn't 100% accurate that they can hide again at 6 seconds. Sometimes they might have to wait 11 seconds to hide again.
There has to be a better way to prevent it, quite frankly, I never knew why Bioware couldn't code it for once a round.
Wait. I know this may sound impossible, overpowered, and overall crazy, but what if we completely redid stealth mode? Have it make the stealther invisible and his movement speed decreased for 30 seconds - he's got 30 seconds to do what he has to do and he can only do so 3 times in a given round (Server round, not NWN engine round). You can give all players a detect rod that makes a listen/spot check against all stealthed characters' hide/MS. If one of those checks are beaten, the stealther's invisibility is dispelled and can be seen by the enemy.

Sorry but stealth mode cannot be modified. It can't even be removed.
besides, that would be unfair if one char could spot it, then all chars could. then mage's invis would also have to be redone. and tehn see invis rods would also find sneaks, not jsut mages.

An odd sense of humor you there. Ranged csing is hmm how could i say it best LAME why? Because if someone is csing he abuses the game engine how? He attacks in such periods of time that hearing/spotting him is nearly impossible and even if you do it's close before the attack. Buy a ranged waep you say? of course fight and AA ranged with an um str build and good luck, chase them suuure like you've ever catched them in time. The situation as it is now is that csers can be beat only by other sneaks or by mages if they spot/hear them. It's a pity that scripting it right would cause lags.
The strength of a ranged sneaker lies in his ability to run away with no risk of being caught. This needs to be changed, IMO. Movement speed decrease on ranged weapons (when in the inventory not just when equipped) might work, but there are ways around that.
thats why throwing axes of might were tossed in. so STR builds get some decent ab wiht ranged weapons. and the movement speed decrease would be unfair. just make haste unattanable when a ranged wep is in inventory until lvl 15+. by then most classes can spot somethings and MS will still be crap form haste. and besides, some of the best palyers on our server are ranged CSers. Me (archer), Casas has Guy, uhh......Proto (not prostoss), some other ppl....
