Sheath doesn't affect a +5 ranged cs. At all.

Ranged CS'ers aren't the issue. Melee rogue's, other archers, and anyone with throwing axes can fix them.

Well I have a plan for cs'ing as well but that's for another post.

Casas you're ignoring the main ideas of my posts and focusing on the minor details. I leveled my mage fast yes, but the main point I was trying to get across was that it was easy to do, with self-nerfing and a crappy build. You can argue with me about how speed doesn't mean anything all you want but that doesn't change the fact that it was only a marginal point in the overall idea that it was an simple thing to accomplish.

Now you also state a number of class which can beat mages. I never said mages were unbeatable, if they were we wouldn't be having an argument about how they're overpowered everyone would just agree. However from my experience most melees don't go 1:1 with a mage, most go 1:2 just about everytime. I think you're looking at this like everyones already reached level 20 and can afford full mage gear. A level 20 melee is a -lot- stronger against a mage then a level 16 one, even when both are facing = level mages.

Now you keep saying things like "Once magic is balanced." Everyones got a different idea on what needs to be balanced with magic so that's no small task you're talking about. I mean really how long does this server need to wait before things are "balanced." We've been at it for 2 years now trying to make things more fair and doing it prodominately by giving items to the other classes and weakening spells. What I'm proposing is a much simplier and faster idea which might very well level off the mages who currently are completely capable of usually taking people several levels higher then themselves.

This massive task of "balancing the spells" is a tired one which really has gotten us baby steps forward with maybe 2-3 main spell groupings (for mages) balanced for overall play.

No, I pointed out it's easy to do because of nitwits run at you with shields, and heavy armor w/o pfa and such. Stupidity of the common player is no reason to nerf an entire class.

We need to look at L20 vs L20.. don't care about progression.. otherwise we need to SERIOUSLY and outrageously buff paladins at L7, because they can't take barbarians more than 1:3 or so. >_> Anyone L20 can afford full mage gear, it's very affordable, and extremely effective.

Magic takes awhile to fix because no one listens to me.. I've had a friggin post up forever about balacing magic.. did anyone care? Nope.

What your proposing is insane. You want csers to rule supreme without a counter.

Ranged csers are a helluva lot stronger than you think. All mine are melee, but they pick up a bow and gain immense amount of power.
