New PC
So I'm getting a new computer and I'm a little short on money, so I'm reducing a few things from it.
On the coupon thingy there was an option of choosing either an Intel Core2Duo E8200 Processor or an Intel Core2Quad Q6600 Processor.
The Duo costs less than the quad naturally.
Frankly my geekiness isn't vast enough to tell me what the hell a processor is and which one is best. (I'm guessing its the quad.) Which would you think is good for gaming?

The dual core will be much faster for you. The 1333 FSB over the 1033 is a big difference for data getting to RAM and video. Also, the 2.66GHZ is slightly better than the 2.04 or whatever the quad is. I think its near that speed. Plus you will never utilize the quad capability. Our database server at work is quad core and never gets utilized that much.
Intel's quad core is actually 2 dual core's stacked together. I'm not sure what this means, but it seems like a cheap way of keeping up with AMD. So I'd wait for the quad's to get better.
As a gamer, the 3.8GHZ processors are still better, but only for playing 1 game and running nothing in the background.

Well I'm stuck with the quad tho, cause dad said, "Son......I wanna buy you the latest/bestest computer there is! So that you won't come crying to me again for a better one."
I love my Dad =]
