Unused weapons

Sickles, Light Flails, Kamas, Handaxes need a little boost. The best handaxes are really expensive and can only be used by a dwarf, while dwarven waraxes can be used by any race and are... better quality.

Is there anything we can do to make these weapons more attractive? ( Besides putting lipstick on them. That one night... Kama was a bit sharp. )

Might want to include quarterstaves and spears in that as well.

Spears and Q staffs actually are good, people just don't like the d6 for a 2 handed weapon, but it works just fine.

I mean weapons that are basically untouched. The best sickle is still a +3 keen.

They won't really be used on a pvp server which gives you the choice of ALL weapons. If this were campaign, you would use whatever you found to deal damage. Here, you can choose your weapon, whichever that may be.

Obvious choice would be Scimitars over sickles.

But it's a martial weapon. Not every class gets that for free. The best simple weapon is morning star damage wise, but clubs have the best damage on the server. Still a 1d6 x2 20 weapon. Sickles have a chance.

You could always move the keen and special properties from the +3's to their top bonus so the +3 keen would be +5 keen.

Kamas, in particular I think should be given some improvement.

The best kamas are the shadow ones-rogue only. There really should be some spiffy monk ones.

Or just some good ones in general. Other weapons are way better. They are exotic weapons afterall.

Spine Snapper would enjoy some new kamas.

and also most martial wepons have an elemental alternative at lv 7 i.e. Acerbic Dagger, Acerbic hammer. I believe the energized handaxe is a lv 8 requirement.

Should those weapons get special properties up their max enchantment then?

Right now they all stop at +3.

Well you're in charge so you get to decide whats the final go.

We also don't want to overpower them, and upgrades also won't necessarily make them more used.

I already suggested that Kama's and Sicles should get up to +5. I do not believe it will be overpowering, for it's arguable that Daggers and Kukri's will still do more damage per round.

A monk with two +5 kama's sound scary, but they do less damage than fists.

Plus, if you're only going the minimum amount of monk to utalize flurry of blows with a haste item, then you're probably going to hurt yourself building that way in the end.
