Stepping Down as a Player

Post by T3hRedMage »

My vault got cleaned again, but it was my fault this time for not character refreshing. Regardless, I don't have the motivation to try and level them up anymore, especially with the current XP flow of the server. It would take me months to relevel one character and I lost about nine.

Not to mention a lot of them were really difficult to level. .

I'll still be a DM, but you won't be seeing me player-side anymore.

Weeeeell... I'd say fewer and fewer people are playing NWN. Most of the new people we have, like TRM said, are from other countries and do not play during what we consider "peak" times. A while back EWA was down for about two weeks, and that was bad for business. Players went to other places and got addicted to other mods, with every intention of coming back when the server got busy again. But just like TRM was saying, this server requires players to thrive. Nobody logs in when they see 0 people on. Probably most folks aren't even interested until the server hits over 4. If nobody logs on, the server will NEVER have the numbers again.

So... server down + less english players + seeming inactivity = dead server.

Fortunately this module is awesome, and if people just PLAY here, they become addicted pretty quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if EWA got over this rough slow spot and neither would I be surprised if this was the end, my friend.

Sorry I haven't been on much. I've been consumed by Armageddon MUD and putting in around ten hours a day. Time is money, friend.

www.armageddon.org if you're interesting in a roleplay intensive game that is just as addictive as crack.

I really really really really miss those days where we would be at least 26 players in a bloody battle that would be extremely fun with all the EW veterans playing. I'd do anything for atleast one day like that.

I was thinking about bots, have these bots that act as players to increase the player count. You know, they fight each other, bla bla bla....

That would be amazing. NPC players when the server is under 8 people.

To add onto what Lost was saying, a lot of the engrish players I believe have gotten hooked onto NWN2, inferior as it may be - though nowhere near as inferior as Star Control (Not)3.

The bot idea is MAGNIFICENT... but I bet it would also be a super bitch to code.
