I'm going to make a good advertising video for the server, then post it on youtube. Hopefully people will be encouraged by the price of the game, buy/torrent it and log on to get their arse handed to them by my suicide rogue.....hopefully.
Uhm nevermind, I can't do it with an empty server =P
I still say that we should have bots/NPCs fighting each other all the time, that way you can still play around and eventually people start joining.

would be hard to do that though...
i mean if you have a few fighitng some1 logs a lvl 13 a bot needs to be in that range to fight the player... also what determines the bots classes/skills/feats and personality...

Fightable NPCs that respawn over and over would be a really hard script.
What we need is faster leveling, new maps, and finish capture the flag. Those things are easy to fix and are all that is needed.
Faster leveling because when people come in with their friends and have a 1 on 1 for about an hour, and are only rewarded with 1200 XP, it doesn't really spark an interest to keep going. Also, the curve for the passed serveral month is getting to level 12 or 13 then stopping, because there are no one else that high to fight. All the verteran players with lots of choices are gone and/or have had their characters purged. We need faster level to replace these players with newer ones more often.
The server still has a lot of potential, but as it is in a dying game, it is too hardcore.

who do we have scripting?? do you do any of that Red?? if so why not find out about jumping the xp more and maybe sometimes if server is low have some1 on as a DM instead of NPC's that respawn and they can create some bots to fight for teams maybe??
honestly i think XP increase would get more population hands down the fastest...

Faster leveling would be great, especially since I got used to slow leveling from EW and CD It would help get our pre-epics back up and would bring in more players. Half the reason people are thrown off by EW is slow leveling, the other half is that it doesn't go epic. Though those are actualyl 2 things I love

Sweet Jesus I got it! I got out of bed and replied just to make sure that I don't forget about what I'm about to write.
Let there be epic levels! But let it also be restricted.
How?
First, raise the maximum level to level 24, that way any epic character will be in range of the level 20s only (its unfair for <20 players to take on epics, and this also introduces a new challenge and ambition for the 20s.)
Now, for a character to become an epic, he must:
1) Be level 20.
2) Apply on the forums to become an epic. (This way more people will sign up.)
3) They have to pass a test. (Read below.)
This test will be specifically designed for literally the best of the best who want to become epics. It must be extremely hard so that:
1) It will limit the number of epics; we don't want a server full of epics, maybe at least 5 epic players for now.
2) It ensures that the players have an above average IQ; having non-english speaking epics who effy kill and don't know about the rules is suxorz.
3) The players need the best level 20 gear there is to even manage to survive 10 seconds in the test; this will make them work hard to get gear and contunie playing after hitting 20.
The test could be like an obstacle course full of difficult NPCs with maybe even a spectator area. But we should probably make a new thread about this.
If the player survives the test, a DM can level him to the epic levels and he would have access to epic gear. These players would act like mini-bosses during normal matches and offer a new challenge for level 20s. But again, there must only be a very limited number of epics. Oh and we have to make sure that clerics will have a hard time doing the test.....that class is seriously, seriously overpowered.
If levelling speed is increased, this idea would have a much greater chance of becoming real.
