Still stuck?
A level 6 can escape the trigger and be allowed to join a team. He won't be able to leave the base though. Another script there to prevent him.

I think the Lvl 6er was a Wiz/Sorc/Ranger, sucky build, 2 lvls each

Ya, nwn doesn't always fire the onexit script of triggers if you do it enough. I've done it to just to see how to do it. But the trigger in base won't let them proceed if their not 7+.
