rods
ok i know what rods are for and i have nothing agianst them but my friend sent me an e-mail today about them just stating that why should wizards use the rods for its DC instead of there own which i agree with him spell casters shouldnt really be able to use the rods to there advantage because there DC is rubbish for that spell or however it works but he understands why meeles would want to use them and he doesnt mind them using them he just doesnt see the piont in mages using them

If the mage doesn't want to use the rods then he doesn't have to. Nobody needs to use them.
Bigby added those damage ones along time ago I think to counter the range players, however I don't think anyone ever uses them for that purpose.A95 wrote:There is one rod that does damage.
Its 500 gp for a level 1~2 spell that does 5d6 damage and would have a DC of 10 I believe.

i dont think thats what my friend is stating i beleive hes stationg the fact about dispell rods and such i beleive the rods come with different DC from the cheap one to the greater one and that wizards shouldnt use them because they should have there own spells and there own DC i thought the rods were there to help meeles out agianst mages and clerics or such but it seems that meeles wernt using them agianst mages and clerics so further action has been taking place agianst mages to weaken them further

The rods use the rod's users DC, so a mage getting a rod is just getting an extra cost for extra cash spent. The DC should be the same I think, or the rod might give them a worse DC. I hope I think I know what your saying.AntiChristMofo wrote:i dont think thats what my friend is stating i beleive hes stationg the fact about dispell rods and such i beleive the rods come with different DC from the cheap one to the greater one and that wizards shouldnt use them because they should have there own spells and there own DC i thought the rods were there to help meeles out agianst mages and clerics or such but it seems that meeles wernt using them agianst mages and clerics so further action has been taking place agianst mages to weaken them further
I do know the rods use exact same script as mage spells. So I can only assume that the rods either have same or crappier DC than the spell.
