Highest AB

What is the highest AB a person can get?

I have Ranger's as highest at 42.
Then Barbarians at 40.

Sneak gets 30.
Drow gets 31 with a shortbow 29 with fists.

Halfling dex based paladin using a sling will always give you the highest ab.

+5 weapon, +1 focus, +1 Good Aim, +1 Size modifier, +3 bless/aid/prayer, +5 divine favor, +1 point blank, +13 dex mod. +20 bab. = 50 ab

Elf Pally/bard/aa is an equal here.

+5 weapon, +1 focus, +2 bless/aid (no room for prayer), +3 favor, +1 song, +1 point blank, +5 AA levels, +13 dex, +19 bab = 50 ab

These builds of course ignore the use of Truestrike which could make your ab higher for a much shorter time...oh and the first builds buffs last much longer so it will have 50 ab for a significantly longer period of time.

As far as damage goes the highest ab I've ever created on a str based person was my Pally/WM

Finished off with 46 ab using a greatsword. If it could be +5 then it would have been 48. (That thing could crit for 200+ damage with the right greatsword too hehe)

Size modifier assumes you're fighting someone larger.

I forgot the mod's get to 13, so the Ranger would get 44 with weapon focus. This would be a str ranger, so some nasty damage there as well.

good aim only applys to throwing weapons, i.e darts, shuriken, throwing axes.

Sling is considered one of them.

Wait, how's a STR ranger get 44 AB? 20 BAB + 13 MOD +5 Enc + 1 WF + Aid = 40 I suppose if you used throwing weapons as a halfling, it could be 42 (But that's DEX).

Note: Good Aim works with THROWING weapons. Slings shouldn't fall under that category.
Note 2: Magical AB is capped at +20, enchantment, divine favor, bless, enchant arrow, true strike all count toward it.
Note 3: All the AB's listed last about 1 turn.

I'm pretty sure that sling counts as a throwing weapon. I used it with my newly made rogue/sin and it got 1 extra ab than with a melee.

Sling counts as a throwing weapon, it always has.

The halfling slingers buffs all last around 4 turns save favor which lasts 2 as taking extend is a given with that many pally levels.

Enchant arrows don't count towards that +20 cap. They are considered "feat" ab which has it's own +20 cap ....which can't be reached in non-epic.

If you count spell buff's then the Ranger can get more.

+20 BAB, +13 mod, +5 weapon, +1 WF, +5 favored = 44

Add aid and now they get more.

Favor adds damage, spot, listen and taunt checks, not ab. Take 5 off that score. It's a common misconception but a critical one. So your character has 40 ab...which isn't bad at all.

Ahh crap. Oh well, actually it'd be 39 then. Barb's get 40 unbuff'd.

*notes how death bringer dont have 40 AB* death bringer dont have 40 AB. his max is 36 or 38.

ok halflings dont make teh best STR barbs. the -2 str ruins them. ive always been thinking aobut remaking him as a dex though. but my next major char afte ri get dark samurai up, is a dex pally.

HALFLINGS OWN ALL! and im the user to proove it. i have maybe 3 non-halfling chars and none are past lvl 8. my AA and my DD. and maybe my WM.

but anyway, AB is well worth experimenting.

STR Cleric.. 10 BAB + 5 favor + 1 bless + 1 aid + 13 mod + 5 domain + 5 enchant + 2 battletide = 42 AB, not shabby.
