But it's 1 kill and they need to give up substantial amounts of levels to use it...not to mention PfA blocks it.

Huh? 3SD rewards the daze. I'm under the knowledge it has no save, and pfa is only +saves.. so it won't block it. Lasts 5 rounds no? 30 seconds, not to shabby.

Shadow Daze is a spell-like ability, and it GETS BETTER unlike its cousin Daze. The reason I'm worried about Shadow Daze has already been stated - it allows for 50 frillion sneak attacks. You KNOW how much that does.

One of my geared L40s failed a Will Save against Shadow Daze cast by a L40 Shadowdancer. No, I didn't roll a 1 to my knowledge.

But it's DC increases. THAT's what kills melees.

Anti, go to page 1. All of your questions have been answered already. Frankly, getting raped by sneaks is what I despise. Getting raped by sneaks with Shadow Daze will drive me insane.

Like I said make shadow daze 5+int mod + SD level.

That'd make it for an average max of DC 15. And if you can't afford to buy a few will rings or a PFA rod to save vs 15 than you deserve to die.

Makes sense. Unless the sneaks are going for extra skill points or multiclass with Wiz (in which case they wouldn't have to go Shadowdancer period), that should be the average max.

There is no average maximum in this case. Those only exist when there is no absolute maximum, or dealing with large amounts of varied data..

An absolute max of 30 DC for 10 SD is OK for testing.

I guess I need to find out what Shadow Daze does exactly.

I'm assuming its a hold thing, but what type of hold? Paralysis, stun, petify?

What is the DC configured for?

What save does it check for it it checks for one?

This way I make sure I test that part of it and set it to par. I just can't believe that something like that plus HiPS would be allowed for a single class.

It's Daze, hence its name. Anyway, I agree with Casas on this one, more or less. I feel a DC of 27 or 28 would present a better chance for melees. Monks, Pallies, and pretty much all casters may be able to resist. Iron Will helps. A LOT.
